Well, winter isn't over yet... We are currently right in the middle of a new winter storm, Winter Storm Triton. An area of low pressure is currently on the Illinois/Wisconsin border. I had noticed that we earlier today that stratus clouds were covering the skies, and we were experiencing some slight drizzle and flurries. I looked up the wind direction and it was coming from the NE. This told me that we would be experiencing more precipitation, most likely stronger than the flurries of early. Sure enough some snow started falling late afternoon and has slowly increased in intensity over the last few hours. Accumulation estimates range form 2-6 inches depending on the source. I will update the blog with storm totals tomorrow when precipitation clears.
